Zircon brick

Acid-resistant refractory, Ultra-high melting point, Exceptional slag resistance, Low thermal expansion, Reduced thermal conductivity

Application

Refractory Linings for Glass Melting Furnaces, Ceramic Kilns, and Metal Smelting Units

Description

Zircon brick is a refractory product, manufactured from natural zircon sand (ZrSiO₄). Zircon refractory blocks belong to zirconia-based refractories. Produced by the method of spray granulation, isostatic pressing, and high-temperature firing.

Features

  1. Belongs to acid-resistant refractory bricks.

  2. Possesses high resistance to slags, especially acidic ones.

  3. Low thermal expansion, stable volume at high temperatures.

  4. Thermal conductivity decreases with rising temperature.

  5. High refractoriness and softening temperature under load.

  6. Hard structure, good wear resistance.

  7. Excellent thermal shock resistance.

  8. High bulk density and strength during cold pressing.

  9. Resistant to the effects of molten steel and glass.

  10. Standard and non-standard sizes available (custom production per drawings possible).

Applications

  1. Application in the steel industry:

    • Lining of vacuum degassing ladles

    • Lining of stainless steel ladles

    • Lining of tundishes for continuous casting

    • Nozzle bricks

    • Stopper heads

    • Well blocks

    • Lining of high-temperature induction furnaces

  2. Application in the glass industry:

    • Hearth bricks for glass melting furnaces

    • Bricks for rear walls

    • Materials for batch charging zones

    • Especially effective in areas of intensive contact with glass melt

  3. Application in the aluminum industry:

    • Hearth masonry of aluminum furnaces

    • Main advantage: resistance to chromium and aluminum oxides, as well as slags based on them
