Zirconium fireclay exported to Indonesia

Recently, RS Refractory successfully exported a batch of high quality zirconium fireclay to Indonesia, providing a perfect lining joint sealing solution for local high temperature equipment manufacturers.
Indonesia customer profile:
The customer is an industrial furnace engineering company located in Java, Indonesia, specialising in high temperature heat treatment equipment for the steel, aluminium alloy and precision ceramics industries. In the process of building a new vacuum sintering furnace production line, the customer put forward very high requirements for the lining material (especially the joint filling material), and it was clear that they needed a refractory slurry with high temperature resistance, low shrinkage and strong corrosion resistance.
The customer contacted us through our online customer service and proposed to purchase a special refractory slurry for the joint connection between zirconia bricks.
Product Selection and Sample Confirmation
Product Recommendation
After understanding the working conditions, our technical team recommended a zirconium refractory slurry with the following characteristics:

  • Main components: zircon (ZrSiO₄) + high-temperature binding agent;
  • Working temperature: up to 1650°C or more;
  • Excellent plasticity and constructability;
  • High-density, low-cavity pore structure after sintering;
  • Resistant to high-temperature corrosive substances such as alumina and silicate slag.

Zirconium Fireclay Sample Sending
We sent the test samples to the client in a timely manner with the following documents:

  • Physicochemical Index Table
  • Construction Recommendation Sheet
  • Safety Data Sheet (SDS)

The client was satisfied with the following properties of the samples:
✓ Good flowability
✓ Very low shrinkage on drying
✓ High strength at extreme temperatures
Therefore the client decided to purchase the entire batch of the material to be used in the kiln lining work for the entire project.
Smooth Delivery and On-site Feedback
The whole batch of goods has been packed in strict accordance with the customer’s requirements and arrived at the port of Jakarta (Indonesia) smoothly by sea.
Upon completion of the installation work, the customer issued the following acceptance report:
“The zirconium refractory slurry supplied by your company has demonstrated excellent performance:

  • Excellent ease of construction
  • Outstanding bond strength index
  • Perfect compatibility with our refractory bricks”

During the subsequent heat treatment, the material did not show any cracks or spalling, confirming that it is the ideal solution for sealing high temperature joints.

In view of this, the customer formally included us in the list of preferred suppliers for the subsequent maintenance services of the project, and clearly expressed its intention to purchase other refractory products:

  • Refractory castables
  • Ceramic fibre products
